In fact, Nvidia's stock price has been unstable since reaching the top. Since the rise of the AI wave in 2022, such a significant correction is quite rare. After all, as the main manufacturer of intelligent computing chips in the world, Nvidia has significant advantages in artificial intelligence (AI), high-performance computing (HPC), data centers and graphics processing units (GPUs). ) and other markets have a leading position.

Obviously, when the craze gradually calmed down, issues such as the high cost of use and high power consumption of GPUs were gradually faced by investors, and more and more AI chips other than GPUs received attention.

Not long ago, at the RISC-V and Generative AI Forum of the 2024 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC2024), Meng Jianyi, CEO of Zhihe Computing, proposed that the chip industry is entering the "XPU" era.

IDC data shows that GPU servers will dominate AI servers in 2023, with a market share of 92% and reaching US$8.7 billion. Non-GPU accelerated servers such as NPU, ASIC and FPGA will account for nearly 8% of the market share with a year-on-year growth rate of 49%. By 2028, the scale of China's non-GPU server market will exceed 33%.
